Queen (2014)

Rani (Kangana Ranaut) is a 24-year-old Punjabi girl living in Rajouri Garden, Delhi. She is from a very conservative family and her brother escorts her everywhere to ensure she’s safe. Two days before her marriage, her fiance Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) meets her in a local cafe to tell her that he no longer wants to marry her. He explains that he’s changed and she would not fit into his new lifestyle. Rani is shocked and shuts herself in her room for a day. She decides to take control of her life and plans to go alone on her pre-booked honeymoon to visit Paris, her favorite place and Vijay’s favourite place, Amsterdam.

After initially hesitating, her parents agree to the trip and Rani takes off. In Paris, she meets Vijayalakshmi who becomes her friend and confidante and shows her around Paris. The two have a series of adventures. Eventually the time comes for her to bid an emotional farewell to Vijayalakshmi and board the train for Amsterdam. However, when she arrives in Amsterdam, she finds to her horror that her hostel room is booked with three guys (Taka, Timy and Oleksander). Soon, the four become good friends and explore the city. She learns more about her friends’ backgrounds and begins to understand how different life can be for people in other parts of the world.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

Kavya Pratap Singh, a chirpy, yet feisty girl from Ambala, decides to make a trip to Delhi for her wedding shopping. She meets a young, carefree Delhi lad, Humpty Sharma. Humpty’s father is the owner of a campus bookstore, where Humpty and his two best friends, Shonty and Poplu, have grown up together. Kavya is unattainable for Humpty initially, which makes her even more endearing to him. Determined Humpty, with help from his two best friends, finds out all about her and eventually they start growing closer to each other. Kavya’s trip ends and she heads back to Ambala. She knows that her father, the very strict, yet loving Mr. Singh, would never accept her love for Humpty. To get his love, Humpty, along with his two friends, heads to Ambala. That’s the beginning of a journey for him that he wouldn’t have imagined undertaking even in the wildest of his dreams. Humpty, against all odds, decides to convince Kavya’s family to agree to his alliance with her.
