Pooja is the only daughter of a shipping tycoon Seth Dharamchand. She is in love with a movie star Deepak Kumar. When her father strongly disapproves of their marriage, she jumps from their family yacht and escapes. She has to reach Bangalore anyhow because Deepak is on a shooting there. She manages to board a crowded inter-state bus to Bangalore. In the bus she encounters a smart loud-mouth reporter Raghu Jetley who has just lost his job. On the way he finds out the truth about her. He offers to help her in exchange for an exclusive story on her. She has to accept his help or he would blow the whistle on her to her father. Their adventures begin here. After many hitch-hikes, nightly shelters, the out-of-luck reporter and runaway heiress find themselves more and more in love with each other.
