Anuradha Verma(Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) is a prominent criminal lawyer and a single mother who has never lost a case. On the day of a parent-child race in her daughter Sanaya’s(Sara Arjun) school, Sanaya is kidnapped and no ransom is demanded, but instead the kidnapper contacts her and tells her that she has to defend a convicted felon to get her daughter back. The felon is Miyaaz Shaikh(Chandan Roy Sanyal) who is convicted for rape and murder of a young woman and the case against him is set for judgement in four days. The kidnapper keeps track of Anuradha very closely to make sure she complies with his demand. Anuradha gets help from her friend Yohan(Irrfan Khan) who has been suspended from the police force. The case against Miyaaz Shaikh is handed by a powerful politician Mahesh Maklai(Jackie Shroff) to a renowned public prosecutor(Atul Kulkarni) who has been defeated by Anuradha and hence has a long time professional rivalry against her. Notorious criminal Pasha has been sent to jail by the former inspector general of Police Shrikanth Mathur. An enraged Pasha decides to get even with Shrikanth and hence asks his trusted protégé Jackie to carry out a plan to get him released from the prison. As directed, Jackie abducts Shrikanth’s daughter Radha in the garb of a police officer. Radha is made to believe that Jackie and his gang of goons are her protectors and are keeping her in the jungle for her safety as her house has been taken over by bandits. Ram Lakhan
Honest and upright Thakur Pratab Singh lives with his wife Sharda, two young sons Ram and Lakhan and his evil cousins Bhishambar and Bhanu. Bhagam Bhag
Champak Chaturvedi runs a theatrical troupe in India. He hires two men, Bunty and Babla as actors. Anjali plays as the lead actor in the play. Both men end up squabbling with each other, as both want the hero’s part. The group gets a contract in Britain; however, on the day of the departure, Anjali opts out, leaving Champak with no alternative but to travel without a heroine. Upon arrival, Babla sets out to find a suitable heroine, but Bunty manages to find Munni. Eventually, Munni and Bunty fall in love with each other.
