Ek Duuje Ke Liye

Sapna lives a wealthy lifestyle in Goa, India, along with her parents. Their neighbors are Tamil-speaking vegetarian tenants, V. Sivaramakrishan, his wife, Vandana and son, Vasudevan, and detest the Kundanlals’ meat-eating habits. Both families are aghast with surprise and anger when they find out that Sapna and Vasudevan are in love with each other. Strong opposition only strengthens their romance, forcing the families to compel the couple to stay away for a year, and not to communicate to each other in any manner. Both agree, and Vasudevan leaves for Hyderabad to work for a Chartered Accountant. Vasudevan befriends a widow, Sandhya, and learns how to dance as well as read and write Hindi, while his dad arranges his marriage with Tamil-speaking Tulsi. While on a trip to Mangalore he finds out that Sapna has got married to Chakravarty, and instantly decides to marry Sandhya. What impact will Vasudevan’s past have on Sandhya when she eventually finds out about his feelings about Sapna?

Lucky: No time For Love

Mr. Sekhri is the Indian Ambassador in Russia, and his Chief Assistant is Mr. Negi. Sekhri is widowed with a son named Aditya, while Negi is married and has brought his wife, Anjali, and two daughters, Lucky and Dhara, with him to Russia. One day while going to school, Lucky’s bicycle has a flat tire, and she ends up being molested by a young Russian. She manages to escape and hide in a parked car, and the molester is chased away by the car’s owner – who is none other than Aditya. Unaware of his “cargo”, Aditya drives the car to meet his father, until he is stopped at a check-post. That’s when he finds out that Lucky is on board. Then terrorists strike out with bombs and guns, and chaos breaks lose, the telephone lines are down, and there is no electricity. Aditya and Lucky manage to escape and hide in an isolated graveyard. Aditya finds out that Lucky has consumed contaminated water, is poisoned, and with communications down – looks like Lucky’s luck has finally run out.

Ready

In Thailand, Prem is the heir to his family’s business empire. His father wants him to get married. But Prem is enjoying bachelorhood, until a case of mixed-up identities leads him to runaway bride Sanjanna. Sanjanna is an orphan and her greedy feuding uncles want to get their hands on her inheritance. Returning to India, Prem and his family concoct a grand scheme to win hearts and take home the bride.

Urban Turban

Ann works as a marketing manager at a business college. Her boss Gary learns the college financials is in the red and all his hard work is going down the tube. Gary confides in Ann that if things don’t turn around, everyone at the college will lose their jobs. In a desperate attempt to raise student numbers, Ann comes across evidence that someone is deliberately stealing new recruits from the college. Working with Gary and Polly, the trio try to track down the traitor in their midst. Ann meets Monty, a sweet Indian boy who comes from a strict Sikh family. When Monty’s traditional brother Mr Lalli finds out about them, he “banishes” Monty to Fiji to remove him from Western decadence and plots against him. Once Monty returns to New Zealand from Fiji and discovers his brother’s plans, the only way out he can see is cutting off ties with his brother and asking Ann to marry him. Ann is in love with this boy but marriage? So soon?

Tum Bin: Love Will Find a Way

Shekhar is a qualified business professional in India. One day, he meets Amar, chairman of Shah Industries of Canada. Amar is impressed with Shekhar’s professionalism and qualifications and that is why he offers him to work with him in Canada. But accidently, on the same evening, Amar gets killed by Shekhar’s car. In order to keep off his guilt, he goes to Canada and helps the troubled Shah Indurtries to rise and during the way falls in love with Pia, Amar’s fiance. Then there is Abhay, another businessman, who also falls in love with Pia. Ultimately, Pia comes to know that Amar got killed due to Shekhar, but forgives him.

Pyaar Vali Love Story

Pyar Vali Love Story’ presents two parallel stories. The first one is between a Garage owner Pashyabhai in a chawl and a street-smart and blunt girl Nandini , living in the chawl. When their marriage takes place, Pashyabhai’s younger brother Amar arrives in the chawl and then begins another love story between Amar and Aliya, a muslim girl( Sai Tamhankar) living in the neighbourhood. Aliya’s brother Kadar (Upendra Limaye) who is also good friend of Pashyabhai, fixes the marriage of his sister with Inspector Alam (Chinmay Mandlekar). When Kadar comes to know about his sister’s relationship with Amar, he warns him and even beats him. In the meanwhile, communal riots break out and Inspector Alam is killed. Kadar suspects Amar and vows to take the revenge. Amar and Aliya who are intensely in love, manage to run away from the scene.

Dil se

In this story of the clash between love and ideology, the focus is on Amarkant Varma, a deceased army officer’s son. As a program executive for All India Radio, he travels all over India to interview citizens to mark the 50th anniversary of Indian independence. On one of his trips, he meets and falls for an intriguing and mysterious woman, whom he finds out is named Meghna, and who seems to enjoy leading him on. He follows her all the way to Ladakh, and after only two days together, she leaves him to join a group of insurgents on a mission. Heartbroken, Amar agrees to marry Preeti, a woman of his mother’s choice. Meanwhile, Meghna is chosen to lead a suicide mission on the Republic Day Parade, and when she runs into Amar again where the mission is to take place, their destinies intertwine.

Chitchor

A simple, yet interesting romantic movie, ‘Chitchor’ revolves around Vinod – (Amol Palekar) who falls in love with Geeta – (Zarina Wahab) after her family mistakes him for someone else. When the misunderstanding about Vinod’s identity is cleared, it seems that he may have to lose Geeta for no fault of his. This Basu Chatterji film boasts of a sterling performance by Master Rajoo and an excellent music score by Ravindra Jain, which contains soulful songs like ‘Gori Tera Gaon’, ‘Jab Deep Jale Aana’, ‘Tu Jo Mere Sur Mein’ and ‘Aaj Se Pehle’.

Humshakals

The story revolves around a greedy uncle [Ram Kapoor] of a tycoon, Ashok [Saif Ali Khan], who hatches a plot to usurp the riches unscrupulously. While the uncle connives with his doctor-friend [Nawwab Shah] to grab the fortune, complications arise when they discover the look-alikes of Ashok and his friend Kumar [Riteish Deshmukh].

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

Set in the rustic surroundings of a village in Haryana, India, “Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola” is a comedy-drama about Harry Mandola (Pankaj Kapoor), a wealthy industrialist who loves his drink, his daughter Bijlee (Anushka Sharma) and the unusual bond they both share with Harry’s man, Matru (Imran Khan). Much to her father’s delight, Bijlee is all set to marry Baadal (Arya Babbar), the son of a powerful politician Chaudhari Devi (Shabana Azmi). This alliance which is far from just being a simple union of two young people becomes the seed for a story that brings twists and turns in the lives of Matru, Bijlee and Mandola.
