Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Badrinath Bansal (Varun Dhawan) is your gym-type boy-next-door. Slightly outspoken but mostly lovable. He belongs to a family that suffocates under his dominating father Amarnath Bansal’s (Rituraj Singh) thumb. Badrinath’s prime duty is to collect debt on behalf of his wealthy, patronizing father. His heart skips a beat in a chance encounter with Vaidehi (Alia Bhatt) at a wedding. She is an ambitious, career-oriented woman who’s nursing a broken heart. Once bitten, twice shy, she isn’t looking for a healing touch, especially from another suitor. She has a full education and is secretly training to become a flight attendant while Badri only passed the tenth grade. This leads to a clash of ideologies, despite both of them recognizing the goodness in each other.

Ok Jaanu

Adi is a young game designer from Lucknow who dreams of emigrating to the US and living the American dream. At a chance encounter during his friend’s wedding, he meets Tara. She is a recent architecture school graduate working in an architecture firm. She dreams of going to Paris to pursue higher education. The cheerful banter soon gives way to a conversation where both Adi and Tara realize that they strongly feel that marriage isn’t for them and move in together until the time they go their separate ways when career comes calling. With only 10 days left and parting imminent, Adi & Tara are forced to confront some matters of the heart.

Sanam Re

Akash,(six) lives with his parents and grandfather (Rishi Kapoor), a photographer. Akash’s grandfather predicts that Akash will fall in love with a girl who lives 500 steps away from their studio and that they will be in love forever but won’t be able to be together. An adult Akash (Pulkit Samrat) falls in love with his classmate Shruti (Yami Gautam), believing that Shruti is the one. However, Akash leaves Shruti to pursue his dreams and moves to the city for higher studies. In the present, Akash works for a private firm and leads a monotonous life. When he learns that his grandfather’s health has worsened, he decides to leave. He tries to find Shruti but fails. When he finds that his boss (Manoj Joshi) dismissed him, he rushes back and is asked to secure a big contract for his company if he wants to save his job. He travels to Canada to meet Mrs. Pablo, their company investor’s wife who is now broken-up with her husband. He attends a yoga camp, where he becomes friends with Mrs. Pablo and learns that her real name is Akanksha (Urvashi Rautela). Akash also meets Shruti there, who behaves like a tomboy. Akash pretends to be in love with Akansha to secure the contract, but he and Shruti fall in love again. It is also revealed that Akansha is none other than the tall girl that Akash met in his childhood. Akash is left heartbroken when Shruti leaves at the end of the camp, saying that they can’t be together. Akash realizes Shruti still loves him and embarks on a journey to find the truth with the help of Akansha. He learns that she left him because she is suffering from a rare heart disease; she will die if her heart isn’t transplanted soon. A few months later, Shruti moves out of the hospital, healthy and cured. In order to be with Akash, she moves to the city to find him and is left shocked and heartbroken when she learns that she survived because Akash donated his heart to her.

Lakshya

Lakshya movie is about character Karan who is a lazy man, who is good for nothing. He lives on the income generated by his father and elder brother, who run the family business. All Karan does is have fun with his buddies and romance a woman named Romi. When he watches an action movie, he and his friends decide to enlist in the army, but the course proves to be too much of a bother and he abandons it half way, thus making his lose respect on the home front. Romi also stops respecting him. Now Karan decides that he must re-join the army and show to his family and Romi that he too is focused about path he has to take in this lifetime. But will he be resilient enough to carry out this task?

Aradhana

Vandana and Arun fall in love the instant they meet. On a trip to a Shiv temple, they get married in an impromptu ceremony in front of God. A chance rainshower strands them at a remote hotel where Vandana gets pregnant. With their legal marriage just around the corner, they don’t worry about the consequences of their actions, but unfortunately, Arun dies in a plane crash. Vandana chooses to have the child, Suraj, and as she promised to Arun, wants to raise him to be an Air Force pilot. Fate is cruel to Vandana, however, and the child is adopted by a wealthy family. Vandana becomes a nursemaid to stay close to Suraj. A family member tries to molest her, and in the ensuing fight, Suraj comes to protect her and kills the perpetrator. Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se

Arun and Lily met in classroom for the first time. Arun (Sachin), the only son of a Barrister father, stood second in the exams to Lily Fernandes (Ranjeeta), a shy, simple, modest girl – the daughter of an ordinary nurse in a private nursing home. The shock of the defeat was too much for Arun, and he took up a challenge – even nursed a personal vendetta – to bring down the growing popularity of Lily in the college. Lily, however, bore no malice against him. She even tolerated all the sarcasm and nasty pranks of the close chums of Arun.

Dosti

Mr. Gupta passes away after an accident, leaving behind his ailing wife and son, Ramnath. When they are informed that the company does not accept liability for Gupta’s death, his wife falls down the stairs and faints. When Ramnath goes to fetch a doctor, he is knocked down and run over by a speeding car, losing the use of his left leg. When he returns from hospital, he finds that his mom has passed away, and his landlord has evicted him. Penniless and hungry, he roams the streets of Bombay and befriends a blind young man, Mohan. Mohan is on the look-out for his sister, Meena, who works as a nurse in one of the hospitals and hopes to be reunited with her. Both friends befriend an ailing young girl, Manjula, and hope to get some money from her so that Ramnath can attend school. But sadly, Manjula passes away. Meena refuses to recognize Mohan as she does not wish to associate herself with a lowly beggar; while Ramnath is arrested by the police for his involvement with a group of robbers.

Guide

One of the most remarkable films in Indian Cinema. A film ahead of its time in its theme and the bold handling of the subject. The film deals with Raju Guide (Dev Anand) encouraging the frustrated Rosie (Waheeda Rehman), a talented dancer, to step out of her destructive and confining marriage to Marco, an archeologist, and become a dancer in her own right. Rosie and Raju’s romance, blossoms. In a moment of weakness Raju forges Rosie’s signature and lands in prison. When he is released, he hesitates to return to his hometown and decides to search for his fortunes elsewhere. He ends up in a remote village temple wearing over his threadbare clothes, a saffron scarf and finds himself suddenly elevated to the position of a holy man. For Raju the play acting becomes the reality. He starts believing that this is a task assigned to him by god.
